Crafts and Music from Pets Unleashed VBS 2016

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) is held each June at The Nature Institute (TNI), located at 2121 S. Levis Lane, Godfrey, Illinois. It is a combined effort of two area Presbyterian churches-- Elm Street Presbyterian and First Presbyterian. This year's program was Pets Unleashed. The beautiful outdoor setting at TNI inspired us to look for VBS programs which stress careful stewardship of God's Creation--plants, animals, air, water and people. It is designed for children ages 4 to 11 years from 5:30-8:00 p.m. We invite and encourage ALL children, regardless of denomination, to attend. More information is available in Spring at this website or by calling 618-465-3592. Registration can be done over the phone. These are just a few of the pictures from this year's summer 2016 program. More from this year can be chosen from the Pets Unleashed VBS 2016 menu on the left. More pictures will be added to this gallery.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH is held each Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. The worship service begins in the sanctuary and the children follow their leader downstairs to Burroughs Chapel. Children take the roles of acolytes, readers and  ushers. The message is based on the same passage from the lectionary as the adult worship service that morning. A craft, cooking activity or game reinforces the morning's message in the Youth Room. Children's Church is suspended during the summer.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY is held each Wednesday morning in the Flota Room, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The multi-denominational group chooses their course of study. Currently, the group is studying Paul's letter to the Galatians. Please feel free to join us!

A LECTIONARY STUDY, is held in the Cousley Library each Sunday morning before worship, from 9:00 - 9:50 a.m.  This study is open to anyone who would like to delve deeper into interpretting the listed scriptures for that particular Sunday. Adults, young adults and teens are welcome to join the discussion!
